Kyanite is an aluminum silicate mineral, often occurring as long striated bladed crystals that may be transparent or translucent with a pearly sheen. The most common color is blue streaked with white, green, or black. Kyanite comes from the Greek work, kuanos or kyanos, meaning “deep blue,” and was once commonly called Disthene, which means “two strengths.” Kyanite inspires loyalty and fair treatment to others. It helps to assists on working though disagreements, disputes and can aid in repairing damaged relationships. It is a very beneficial stone for negotiations, diplomatic communications and arbitration. Also helps to open the throat chakra and promotes good communication, encourages self expression and truthfulness.

I try to get the most accurate photo possible, but due to natural variations in the stones, and individual monitor settings, there may be slight variations in colors from the photo to the stone in hand. Many times the actual stones are much better than my photo, as the camera does not always cooperate with me!
