Malaysian "Jade" is commonly mistaken for fine quality jade, when in reality its not a jade at all. This gemstone does resemble jade is certain aspects, probably how it originally acquired its tradename, however it is a member of the quartz family and usually a chalcedony. It can be found in a variety of colors blue, green, and lavender.
