Dumortierite was first discovered in 1881 in the Rhone-Alps region of France by French paleontologist Eugene Dumortier. It is known for its denim blue color with brown or grey veining. Mining locations include Brazil, Europe, Sri Lanka, Peru, Canada and the US.
Dumortierite helps to promote calm, relaxation and harmony. It is a very supportive stone that encourages confidence and courage while still staying true to your beliefs and feelings.
